Reviews in: ARC Ensemble’s Paul Ben-Haim CD (Chandos)

Marie is a member of the twice-Grammy nominated ARC (Artists of the Royal Conservatory) Ensemble.  In June 2013, Chandos released an ARC Ensemble CD of chamber music works by Paul Ben-Haim.  Listen to the final movement of the disc on CBC Music.  Here are the reviews so far:

“The Clarinet Quintet (1941, rev 1965) melds a highly sophisticated musical design with more than a hint of klezmer-influenced improvisation. By then Ben-Haim was apparently happy that he had consolidated a ‘new style’, and the evidence quietly but firmly extends the language of the genre. Superb playing by the members of the ARC Ensemble, excellent soundand useful booklet-notes by Simon Wynberg.”
